viastore systems has had a long company history dating back to 1889 when Immanuel Hahn purchases C. Haushahn machine shop and began manufacturing scales and cranes. In 1900, Haushahn enters the electric elevator market and became a significant supplier over the next 100 years.
Because of the elevator technology, Haushahn entered the AS/RS market in 1970 and became a separate subsidiary specializing in automated material handling, control and software systems supplier in 1988.
In 1999, the elevator business was sold and Haushahn Automation Systems became a stand alone automated material handling company by its managing director Christoph Hahn-Woernle. The company name was changed to viastore systems GmbH.
In 2008, viastore systems acquired the U.S. company Blesco, Inc., headquartered in Grand Rapids (Michigan). Blesco is a system integrator for logistics centers and boasts high expertise in customized applications. The engineering company Blesco specializes in the development, production and integration of intralogistic installations, software and robotic systems.
